Utilities

Many of the following Support utilities are available when you install Avid DS, but we add new tools or provide updates as they become available. The Help file is now included with most utilities.
   
Archive Log Processor

DS Archive Backup

The utility can later be used to restore back all files into their original location so the project reconnect to all required items once the project has been restored.

Version Info Extractor

This tool runs on Avid DS, Avid DS Assist Station, Avid DS RP, and any workstations hosting the DS Services. It builds a CAB report that contains useful configuration information for Avid DS Support to help troubleshooting an installation.
Support for VIE starts with Avid DS v8.4, and requires Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework to be installed on the workstation.

(10-2007)		 Updated AVI Reference Codec for 32 and 64-bit installations. These installers resolve a Codec registration problem found in Avid DS v8.4 for systems that haven't been installed with a previous version.
DS_V8-4_SW INI Fix
2 KB		 A flaw has been discovered in the Avid Download Center package for the Avid DS 64-bit setup menu where no buttons display in the dialog. Download and read the enclosed ReadMe.txt instructions to resolve the problem.
Avid DS 8.4 Console fix
772 KB		 A flaw has been found in the Support Console. When you start V.I.E. from this Console, it cannot correctly run the drivers and firmware comparison executable and list none. This update resolves this issue.
 
Avid DS v8.0 specific
AVI Reference Codec
 To use only with the required version and QFE 		Because there are multiple non-compatible versions of the AVI Reference Codec compiled for Avid DS v8.0, we removed the download option to stop user's confusion and improper installation. To setup the required AVI Reference Codec on a non-Avid DS PC, use the installer that ships with the Avid DS application DVD or its update provided inside the QFE installer.
