There will be no Avid DS Training Edition for
version 8.0 and 8.4 but you can download and use the Avid DS Assist
Station software as a Trial Version for up to 45 days. Click to access
the
Try Out Center on Avid.com and select Avid DS Assist Station.
Avid DS v7.6 Training Edition is a restricted
Academic Edition designed especially for training
purposes. It does not require a license or dongle, and is not for resale. The Avid DS Training Edition
is identical to the software running on Avid DS Nitris
systems with a few notable exceptions:

No licensing (no need
for a dongle or license to run it).

No output to file or
tape (the Output Tool has been removed).

No OMF, EDL or AAF
export.

No indexing services
(internal indexers are used instead).

Archives created on Avid
DS Nitris Training Station can only be read by other training systems.

Archiving is limited to
project data (media cannot be included).

Remote processing is
disabled.

Captured and processed
media use a different format than standard Avid DS Nitris software.

Sequences, clips, and
presets saved with this version use a different format than standard
Avid DS Nitris software.

station, keep the viewer in software display mode only (show a grid
or the safe title area).

the Avid DS Training Edition will
not capture media if your operating system was updated with the
KB908531 Security Update. This is a known issue and it was not fixed
in this free release. Check the
Windows Security Update
Status to avoid potential problems. |
